When You Feel Like You Are Too Much
Have you ever felt like your emotions are just too big. Like you talk too much, feel too deeply, or care more than everyone else around you. Maybe people have even told you to calm down, stop overthinking, or stop being so sensitive.
If you have ever felt this way, you are not alone.
Being a deeply feeling person can sometimes feel overwhelming. You might cry when others don’t. You might care more than you want to. But none of that makes you broken. It just makes you human.
The goal is not to shrink yourself to make others comfortable. The goal is to learn how to honor your emotions and care for yourself through them. That might mean taking breaks. That might mean setting boundaries. That might mean talking to someone who understands.
Your feelings are valid. Your reactions are valid. You are not too much. You are enough.
3. It Is Okay to Ask for Help
A lot of young people grow up believing they have to handle everything on their own. You do not want to bother anyone. You do not want to look weak. Maybe you have even convinced yourself that your problems are not big enough to deserve help.
But here is the thing. Struggling is not a sign of failure. It is part of being human. And asking for help does not make you weak. It actually takes a lot of strength to admit when you are not okay.
Help can look different for everyone. It might be reaching out to a friend. Talking to a school counselor. Asking your parents to take you to therapy. Or simply saying out loud, I am having a hard time.
You deserve support. You deserve to feel better. And there is no shame in needing someone to walk with you through it.
You are not alone. Help is out there and it is okay to ask for it.
